Panorama was difficult to make work right. It is only a mediocre camera. Also the pictures always seemed to turn out blurry; I’d have to take several pictures of the same frame to get a good one. I tried every setting and always ended up with the same result.

I wanted a camera to take in snorkeling and also one that I was not worried about getting wet if caught out in a rain shower. I have a Canon DSLR, but did not want to spend hundreds more for an underwater housing. The video is also great, 720p image quality, and great sound too. The only con is that the panoramic mode under if used as automatic is not very good. When we visited a water park, on one of the slides, it flew out of my pocket. There is so much packed into this point and shoot camera that you’ve got to sit down for about a half an hour to an hour and learn how to use it. It’s not rocket science but there are some things you need to learn how to use.

This camera has a blade type shutter cover over the lens that slips behind the body on operation and is quite clunky. It is by far one of the best little point and clicks that I have had and I have had at least 5 in the past 5 years. It’s built well and has an exceptional battery life (275 picks per charge on average with 14 MP pictures) and the recharge is fairly quick. I used it 3 times under water up to 20 feet no problem. The pictures come out crystal clear.

There are three underwater settings. Close up, landscape, and action. So far I like it but as I read before in the reviews the zoom is definitely choppy which I am disappointed in. I took it kayaking and it took some beautiful pictures.

With only one moving part, this tough camera is a super value if you are a bit hard on your kit as I am. I expected a lot with a tough camera, and it truly is waterproof, but make sure you slide the coking mechanism over or it won’t be.

This will help me take good pictures were my Rebel can’t be taken (rain forest, underwater) I recently ordered this camera for my wife. We have used it 5 or 6 times now and we are really beginning to love how easy it works, as well as the features. I’m guessing it allows the camera to charge more quickly. So my advice is to get a small case that allows you to ALWAYS have that cable with you.

This camera has got to be the most unintuitive point and shoot I’ve ever seen or used. I don’t even care about the image quality, even if it were outstanding, the interface and poor design would steer me away.

The 14MP produces sharp images, auto focus finds the right subject, waterproof (used it in fresh & salt water), movies work great (very minimal wind noise). marble coffee tables.

I thought I had bought an indestructible camera for my teenage daughter. This camera did NOT function out of the box.

My last model offers an amazing variety of filters and different shoot modes. In the water is so easy to use and takes amazing pictures. It would shut off without reason while I was setting up a posed picture. Battery charged, no buttons pressed, just sitting there, lining the kids up or whatever, and ‘beep’ the camera shut off.

However if it’s an amazing photos you want this might not be the camera for you. Only a couple years newer than the 790W, but the display is brighter, sharper, and the video capability is awesome. I rated the durability at a 4 because after reading the review from the gentleman who left the camera on his golf cart, I was careful not to expose the screen to any sharp objects, but the screen was still scratched within the first week. This camera definitely needs a carrying case or maybe buy one of those cling-on screen covers used for cell phones. I was super excited to get this camera because I had done so much research and comparison shopping beforehand…I even tried it at the local Best Buy and it seemed at the time to be a great buy, and to top it off, I saved over $100 by purchasing it on Amazon! However, I have now tested it in several situations/environments with the exception of underwater, and I’m seriously disappointed in the functionality of the camera as well as the quality of the pictures that are coming out. The flash overexposes every picture and the ones that are exposed correctly the color is way off. If I was using this purely for snorkeling it would be great but I need something that looks good above the water as well.

The ‘manual’ is stored in the camera, which was new to me, but it wasn’t difficult to figure out. All in all, I like that better because it saves resources, as well as the added benefit of a ‘tutorial’ scenario where the user can practice different shooting modes and methods, etc. I would never know what sounds were on vids before until I uploaded them to edit them not anymore. I also love the macro and super macro settings as I love to take close ups of flowers and things.

Bottom line, either purchase the 8010 or look for another series. It’s a great waterproof camera.

In even the slightest low light, the image quality was extremely noisy. The panorama was also terrible – it was better to do it on manual, which is very time consuming to line up the images, than the “easy” auto. It’s pretty sturdy and thicker than the last one I had but it is still very light. I have not yet tested the waterproofing yet, nor dropped it on purpose because I would rather not scratch it.

I wanted a waterproof camera I could take while fly fishing and not worry about it getting rained on or soaked if I fell in the river. The environment this camera withstood is a testament to how good a product it is; it rained nearly every day, the temp varied each day from low 40s to mid 60s F.

We wanted a camera that we didn’t have to worry about taking it to the beach or skiing. I read the manual, got it set for my daughter to take pictures right away.

The 720p HD video is great to have as well. Cheap Fitness Equipment.

I’m still playing with it and learning all the options but I highly recommend the camera. It does all that it says it does; it is compact and burly. I want a camera that is not going to fill up every time we take it to the beach. I have been over and over the instruction manual trying to figure out if we are doing something wrong and I am coming up with nothing. Only caution I have is that the camera has limited capability in low light conditions. It’s best to bring along a full size camera if you are shooting in low light or at least use a steady rest for the Stylus Tough. This is a handy feature I appreciate, but if I am taking fast moving action shots, this feature can be turned off in shooting menu 2, “REC VIEW.” Once performed in accordance with the manual, photos can be taken immediately after one another. The camera leaked.

The LED is amazing. These modes would be great for engagement rings, baby feet and fingers, and pretty much everything. I suggest taking the time to read the manual and follow it.

It was just past the one year warrantee. It is ruined and has not successfully dried out.

This float strap works great if you are afraid of dropping the waterproof camera but it sinking. It keeps the camera afloat and is bright and easy to see. Save your money and buy one with a separate underwater housing- wish I had now.

It improves on the Stylus-tough 3000 series in a couple of great ways, solving many of the problems that the 3000 series had. I loved my 3000: even for its faults it still was great to have an ultra-portable, durable camera wherever I am. Probably seven out of ten pictures are terrible. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable in picture taking and I have tried changing all the functions and nothing improves the quality.

I bought this camera to take on a trip to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park. Our itinerary included lots of hiking, kayaking and just outdoor activities in general. I took it to the beach multiple times, went snorkeling for a couple of hours, and use it for everyday shots. The pictures are crystal clear.

This tells me that the camera will most likely fail within a couple of years due to water leaking into the seals already. DETOUR PROTEIN BAR.

Nice features. Best buy has it on sale for 269. I love most things about this camera, except half the time it doesn’t focus the picture. Some videos I have taken you can see the camera randomly changing focus.

Save your money and buy one with a separate underwater housing- wish I had now. I bought this camera to use on my vacation to Hawaii. We went snorkeling in Hanauma Bay and this camera worked like a charm. User manual is in the on-board software that worked, so you always have it with you. Every electric device has some problems but this is still a great camera. So now I ended up spending a lot of money on a broken camera. I’m hoping Olympus will fix it and that I just got a bad apple.

I returned this camera for a full refund after some slight issues with Amazon. Based on this issue alone, (“blade type shutter cover over the lens that slips behind the body on operation, I can see this getting stuck eventually”) I would recommend – do not purchase this camera! And in my experience salt water leaves a film on the lens so always wash in clean fresh water after any underwater activity. The on-board software glitches when I tried to load it onto my computer, but I haven’t really tried to fix it yet.

I went to Greece over the summer, and I had a very hard time trying to figure out what setting to use. During the night time, if I had a dark picture, you would see “bubbles” all around and it would totally ruin your picture. I don’t know if this is an electrical, software, physical or factory defect problem, but I’ve read a few reviews of Olympus underwater and tough models having a similar problem, so I’m hoping I can at least get the camera fixed or repaired by Olympus, but nothing can replace the photos I can’t take now. These pictures, if taken under fair conditions (sufficient light, clear water), the quality is very good. Maybe that is because prior to this, for the last 6 months, I have only had my Blackberry (2.0 megapixels) camera. The quality is really good but does take a considerable amount of time to get used to the menu settings (I still don’t think I am). This camera definitely has great optical quality. It’s a very thin camera and the user interface is very easy to use and smart. The menu options are very easy. It is very easy to switch the flash on and off, which the option I toggle back and forth the most.

I’m sure if you take proper care of the camera it will last and not leak. small leather recliner.

Have a 16G memory and that works fine. The Shutter got jammed by a grain of sand on our first ocean dive. If you already are familiar with digital cameras, then one could possibly figure this one out, but instructions basically told you how to open up and charge the battery, nothing about the different modes, and had to go on line to find some adequate instructions. Amazon still has the best deals and pricing for cameras. It is easy to carry around everywhere and comes in great colors. I would recommend this camera to everyone! This camera is head and shoulders above the other point and shoot cameras for snorkeling, outdoor shots, video in at least a decently lit location, and even indoors within 5 feet of the camera. My favorite setting continues to be – AUTO!

Do not buy this camera! I purchased this camera some months ago for my wife and son. Well, I’ve seen the results and they are fabulous! She was a little leery of taking that first underwater shot but has taken some fantastic pictures. Otherwise, it is fantastic! If you follow the instructions, it is easy to use, with no leaking possible. To get a quality shot it I feel like you have to select the correct camera setting first, which just adds time and annoyance. I’ve been using Canon Powershots the past 10 years and this camera doesn’t even compare to the Canon’s point and shoot capability.

It’s my second one and now, with the addition of high-def video, I really can’t say anything negative about the Stylus Tough 6020 underwater video!

But if you screw up and put it in first all you have to do is clear out your pictures, eject the card and then plug it up to the computer for a fresh install. So let me start with the positive. I like it very much and got this one as a gift for my fiance. We use them for video half the time.

This camera was for that trip, the beach and the pool. Unfortunately we took some pictures this summer in the pool.

Lastly, this camera is SLOW. It takes a surprising amount of time just to click through the settings (for instance, to click down to the flash setting and then click across to change the flash took about 5 seconds EVERY time).
